Policies
Refined Canine's policies are designed to protect the safety, comfort, and time of every dog and client. Additional terms may apply to individual services and will be provided before booking.
Appointments & Scheduling
All services are available by appointment only. Submitting an inquiry does not reserve an appointment. Your date and time are confirmed after you receive written confirmation and complete any required forms, records, or deposits. The exact address is provided to scheduled clients.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice when canceling or rescheduling. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged 50% of the scheduled service. No-shows may be charged the full amount. Board & Train and group-class deposits are governed by their individual service agreements.
Late Arrivals & No-Shows
Please contact Refined Canine as soon as possible if you are running late. Arrivals exceeding 15 minutes may require the appointment to be shortened, modified, or rescheduled. A rescheduled late arrival may be treated as a late cancellation. Repeated lateness or missed appointments may require prepayment for future services.
Payment & Deposits
Accepted payment methods include Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, cash, and check. Tap-to-pay card payments are also accepted. A disclosed processing surcharge may apply to eligible card transactions. Deposits may be required for select services, with all terms provided before payment.
Health & Vaccination Requirements
Proof of a current rabies vaccination is required for every dog old enough to receive it. Other veterinarian-recommended vaccines are encouraged but not required. Vaccination can reduce the risk of contagious illness but cannot eliminate it, particularly in environments where multiple dogs may be present.
Dogs showing signs of illness—including coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, unusual discharge, lethargy, parasites, or recent exposure to a contagious disease—must remain home. Veterinary clearance may be required before services resume.
Behavior & Safety
All known behavioral concerns must be disclosed before service, including bite history, aggression, resource guarding, reactivity, escape behavior, or extreme stress. A behavioral history does not automatically disqualify a dog; honest disclosure allows an appropriate safety and handling plan to be created.
Safety equipment and management strategies may be used when appropriate. Refined Canine may modify, pause, or end a service if continuing would place the dog, handler, or another person or animal at unreasonable risk.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Please arrive at your scheduled time with your dog secured on a properly fitted collar or harness and leash. Because Refined Canine is a private, home-based business, clients should follow arrival instructions and avoid arriving without confirmation.
Grooming clients must remain reachable and pick up promptly after receiving notification that their dog is ready. Board & Train drop-offs and pickups are scheduled individually, with a hands-on go-home session provided at pickup.
Photography & Media
Photos or videos may be taken for training documentation, grooming records, or private progress updates. Images will only be used publicly for the website, portfolio, or social media with client permission. Declining public use will not affect your dog's services.
